Yesterday Norwegian Cruise Lines said "We are making it more comfortable for solo travelers." There has been great cruise demand by solo travelers but the cruise lines have been remiss in marketing to this segment, which represents around 100 million people in the U.S. according to an industry group.
NCL will do away with the pricing penalty applicable to solo travelers, as well as ending the single supplement. NCL has designed 'studio' cabins for solo cruisers. It will require key-card access into the private solo traveler area which also includes a lounge with bar. Each studio is only 100 square feet, but designed to make smart use of each inch. Some of these cabins will allow adjoining, so 2 single travelers can maintain their privacy while sailing together. If you are a single traveler we have a drawing of the cabin and can provide more info.
